During his 25-year professional career, Derran Eaddy supported U.S. Federal Government initiatives as a strategic communications consultant to the Departments of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), and other Federal agencies.

He is a former New Mexico Commissioner on Higher Education and U.S. Senate Fellow who applies his masters-level education to meet real-world needs. Based in the Washington, DC metro area, he specializes in communications planning, educational outreach, and issues advocacy.

His professional projects have earned awards from such organizations and academic institutions as the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Public Relations Society of America, and the National School Public Relations Association.

Derran successfully supported White House initiatives, managed corporate communications for the MyCareer@VA employee development program, and innovated Federal government communications by launching the DoD Military Health System’s (MHS) first social media program. With approximately 20 million beneficiaries in the MHS and VA, he supported communications for two of the world’s largest health care providers. He addressed issues, such as TBI, PTSD, suicide prevention, mental health care, combat-related injuries, homelessness, and Veteran unemployment.  He also supported major health care service expansions and EHR modernization projects.         

Derran is highly skilled in digital communications technology, press relations and public affairs outreach. Prior to serving Federal government clients, he worked in the education field.
